Safety stairs

The safety stairs are a safe solution when people have to enter tankers or tankwagons, when there is no fixed platform available.

The safety stairs are mobile with height adjustable stairs, based on an aluminum ladder fixed onto a frame with wheels; this makes the safety stairs very easy to move.

The safety stairs enable you to safely climb onto a tanker or tankwagon at every point from the side
and then safely work on top of the tank around the manhole. A cage at the top of the safety stairs safeguards the complete working area around the manhole. Working on top of tankers, tankwagons or tankcontainers always brings a huge risk of falling, as there is hardly ever a (solid) handrail on top of these tanks.

When the safety stairs are put into the right position alongside the tank, the two castors can be pushed downwards manually. This clears the entrance to the ladder of the safety stairs and it locks them in a secure position.

This product meets the demands of almost every (potential) buyer. The safey stairs are very easy to move, ensuring a fast and safe way to climb a tank; and safeguards the complete working area around the manhole on top of the tank.

To sum it all up:

* The safety stairs are adjustable in height from 2.650 mm up to 4.400 mm
* The height is adjustable due to a pulley with a steel cable
* The safety stairs are equipped with an emergency stop, that prevents the stairs from falling/sliding down in case the steel cable snaps. In order to lower the safety stairs the emergency stop needs to be unlocked by pulling a cord.
* The safety stairs have four wheels, of which two are castors. These castors can be pushed downwards by means of a handle.
* By folding the castors downwards the frame supports completely on the ground. This prevents
the safety stairs from moving and at the same time they are put into a secure position. The safety stairs can only be entered when the castors are pushed downwards.
* When the castors are pulled upwards, the safety stairs can be easily moved.
* The cage (top of the safety stairs) consists of a fixed handrail of high quality, that safeguards the complete working area on top of the tank.
* The entrance of the cage is blocked off by a kickplate that has to be unhooked in order to enter the cage. The kickplate will automatically come down at the back of the tank, closing off the entire working area.
* At the front the cage is closed off by a swing-door which automatically closes when the cage is entered.
* The top ladderrung also serves as a step between the stairs and the working area.
