The safety stairs are the safety solution for entering tankers or tank wagons in case no fixed platform is available. The safety stairs are mobile with height adjustable stairs, based on an aluminium ladder fixed onto a frame with wheels. Easy to move, ensuring a fast and safe way to climb a tank.

A safety stairs creates a safe working area on a height from 2.900 mm up to 4.400 mm. An emergency stop prevents the stairs from falling/sliding down in case the steel cable snaps.

Working on top of tankers, tank wagons or containers always brings a huge risk of falling, as there is hardly ever a (solid) handrail on top of these tanks. A cage at the top of the safety stairs ensures a safe working area around the manhole. This working area can only be entered when the kick-plate is being un-hooked and by opening a self-closing fence. The top ladder rung also serves as a step between the stairs and the working area.

When the safety stairs are put into the right position, two castors can be pushed downwards manually. This clears the entrance to the ladder of the safety stairs and locks them in a secure position.
